Meatza

This is a guilt free way to eat pizza without the carbs. Quick to prepare so it’s good for a weeknight.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 pounds ground turkey meat ( I used light and dark meat)
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 ounces freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (I used marinara with basil)
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, thinly sliced

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees (F).
  2. In a small bowl mix together salt, oregano, italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl mix together ground meat, worcestershire sauce, and beaten eggs until well combined. Add Parmesan cheese and seasoning mixture to meat; combine. Press ground turkey mixture into a lightly greased large round pizza pan, spread out evenly.
  4. Place pan into the preheated oven and bake until meat is no longer pink, about 12 minutes.
  5. Pat off any grease that may be on the top with a paper towel.
  6. Turn oven setting to broil.
  7. Sprinkle 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese over baked meat.Top with marinara sauce and tomatoes. Then sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over pizza.
  8. Broil until cheese is melted and lightly browned, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle basil on top before serving.
  10. Cut into slices.
